It is easy to be wise after the event 不經一事，不長一智
something that you say which means that it is easy to understand what you could have done to prevent something bad from happening after it has happened. The same meaning as “it’s easy to be smart after the fact.”
When something has ended badly, it is easy to say what should have been done to ensure success. Foresight is being wise before the event; being wise after the event is called “hindsight.”
